The Struggle, the Self and Inanity is the story of someone who faces some kind of disillusioned glance at his own existence, and finds out he has lived his entire life in the wrong way.
So, he begins his quest through faith and pain to achieve a new conscience and change his state.
The spirit has been withering since the year 2000, from when a huge amount of Swiss gigs have been played.
Through the early years, the band had the chance to perform as supporting act for Blaze Bayley, Paul Di Anno and Eminence.
The shows led Soulline to win the W:O:A Swiss Metal Battle '08, Bern, and to perform at Wacken Open Air with Iron Maiden, Nightwish, Children of Bodom, Carcass, At the Gates and many more, on august the same year.
On may/june, Soulline take part to the "Blitzkrieg V East Tour 2010": a journey through Belarus, Ukraine, Moldavia and Russian Federation headlined by polish death metal masters VADER. The new Album
"The Struggle, the Self and Inanity" was released in October 2010 just before "The AEALO Tour 2010", supporting the legendary Rotting Christ.
The music of the band leads to a certain open-mindedness and keeps at its heart the link to any feeling or sensation that constitute human being. Melody. Depression. Madness. Banality. Happiness. Delusion. Poetry. Aggressiveness. Hope. Needs. Addiction. Redemption.
